“30 Editors You Should Know About”
With credits as diverse as a Boost Mobile spot for Kuntz & Maguire through Team One/El Segundo, the Spike Jonze video What’s Up, Fatlip? and the Jet music video “Are you gonna be my girl” for Robert Hales, Megan Bee acknowledges she likes to “mix it up”.  After growing up in Denver and graduating from Brown, Bee got a job in LA as a PA for a family friend whose office was right across the street from Spot Welders.  The Venice cuttery needed someone to run the office and in 1993 Bee jumped aboard working her way into an assistant position with owner Robert Duffy.  She left the nest to establish herself as an editor freelancing on docs for the Smashing Pumpkins and Beck but came back to the fold in January 2002 when Spot Welders, LA, created a division for young talent called Fresh.  “I really learned under these guys – creatively and how they handle clients – and felt quite a bit of loyalty towards this place”, she says of the homecoming.

Technology:
Avid.  “I’m at a place with Avid that I don’t even have to think about what I’m doing.”

Fave part of the process:
“I get really excited after the initial cut when you can see what it’s about and I can just finesse it from there.”
